Durango is an incredibly beautiful place, and presents a great opportunity to unify a house with it’s natural environment. Taking advantage of views and natural features on the site is of utmost importance to us. One design strategy we find very successful is connecting the indoors with the outdoors with the use of carefully placed windows. Debra Galbraith has done many wonderful landscape designs which incorporate native, drought tolerant plants, and the use of features such as boulders, to create a natural yet interesting look and feel. Outdoor living areas are carefully integrated into the house design.
